Shipping
When an item sells on ReShopMe, the seller is always the one who ships it to the buyer — tracked, insured in transit, and followed on ReShopMe from dispatch to delivery. Here’s how the whole journey works, for both sides of the parcel.
Shipping included — your seller sends a tracked parcel
Every ReShopMe order travels as a tracked parcel. Shipping is arranged as part of your order: at checkout you see the courier services available for each parcel with their prices, choose the one that suits, and pay for everything together. The seller then sends your item tracked, and you follow it on ReShopMe all the way to your door.
Some sellers include shipping in the item price and post the parcel themselves — you pay nothing extra for delivery, and the parcel still travels tracked.
Shipping insurance included
Shipping insurance is included on orders sent with our shipping agent, covering your parcel against loss or damage in transit up to a maximum of $10,000. Cover runs to the point of delivery — once a parcel is marked delivered, transit cover ends, so theft or loss after delivery, including parcels left unattended, remains the buyer’s responsibility.
Checkout Plus Advantage
For extra peace of mind, add Checkout Plus Advantage to any seller in your cart for a small fee — and some sellers include it on their listings at no cost to you. If an item arrives damaged or not as described and your claim is validated, we refund your outbound shipping and cover the return postage too — with a prepaid return label on domestic returns — up to the caps in our Returns & Refunds policy.
Without it, a validated claim still refunds your goods — but return postage is at your own cost. And the cover is fault-routed: where a claim results from a seller misdescribing an item, the costs are recovered from that seller, so including the cover never excuses the listing. The full detail lives in our terms.
How can I determine the shipping costs for my items?
You don’t have to guess courier prices — ReShopMe rates them for you. When listing an item, enter the packed weight and dimensions of your parcel, packaging included, and keep the ship-from address on your profile accurate. Live courier rates are calculated from these at checkout, and your buyer picks the service. Couriers charge on the greater of actual and volumetric weight, so honest measurements keep your quotes right — and your parcel moving.
Prefer to handle postage yourself? Tick Shipping included when listing: your buyer pays nothing for delivery, and you post the parcel with your own tracked postage. Remember you’ll need to buy packaging and postage, so price them into the item.
I just sold an item — time to package it!
Place the item in a sturdy box or shipping envelope, found at office supply stores or the post office. To ensure everything arrives undamaged — and exactly as described — pack your items securely.
For most orders your courier label arrives by email as soon as the order is paid: print it, attach it, and hand the parcel over. If your listing includes shipping, buy tracked postage and add the tracking number to your order as soon as it’s on its way. Ship promptly — we’ll remind you if an order hasn’t been dispatched, and an order still unshipped after ten days is refunded to the buyer.
Keeping you informed — tracking
Every parcel’s journey lives on ReShopMe. The order’s tracking view shows each checkpoint as it happens — picked up, in transit, out for delivery, delivered — and buyers are emailed at the moments that matter, so nobody needs to refresh a courier site. Delivery is also what completes the sale: once the parcel arrives, the seller’s earnings are released shortly after.
Follow up with the buyer
A quick message goes a long way. Thank your buyer and let them know when you intend to ship; once it’s away, tracking updates reach them automatically, but a personal note tells them their item is in good hands — and saves the where-is-it messages later. Buyers can chat with you directly from ReShopMe whenever a question comes up.
Shipping safely
Ship every item tracked, to the address on the order — never to a different address supplied in chat, and never by meeting in person. Take pictures of your shipping receipts showing the address details and the shipping date, keep your tracking number, and retain your proof of shipping until the sale is finalised. Untracked packages are not protected under ReShopMe Seller Protection.
Photograph the item and its packaging as you pack, too. Dispatch photos are your evidence of the condition an item left you in — the difference between damage in transit, which the carrier or insurer meets, and a fault that existed before sending, which falls to you. If you include Checkout Plus Advantage on your listings, keep dispatch photos for every order.
What should I do if something goes wrong?
Check the tracking view first, and contact the courier for an update if a parcel has stalled. Keep your buyer informed in chat — if their item is held at customs, say so. Add your shipping evidence to any ReShopMe claim within the requested timeframe, and contact ReShopMe Support whenever you need assistance or advice.
Buyers: report an item that hasn’t arrived, or one that arrived damaged or not as described, within 72 hours — the not-received window runs from the latest estimated delivery date, and the damaged or not-as-described window from the day it arrives. Our terms set out exactly how claims are resolved.
