Help Centre / Dark mode and how the site looks
Every page comes in light and dark. Unless you say otherwise, the site follows whatever your phone or computer is set to, and flips with it.
The sun/moon icon in the top bar changes it. The icon shows where pressing leads — a moon means go dark.
Your choice is remembered in that browser on that device, and it outranks the device setting until you change it back: if you've said which way you want the site, we don't overrule you when your phone switches at sunset. It isn't attached to your account, so a different device or browser starts by following the device again. If you browse privately, or your browser blocks sites from storing anything, the switch still works — the choice just won't survive a reload.
Microsoft Edge has a setting that darkens every website itself, instead of letting the site show its own dark design. With it on, our pages come back in Edge's colours rather than ours — muddy tiles, a dark red bar across the top where ours is pink — and the switch in the top bar can't help, because the recolouring happens after the page has already been drawn.
Turn it off, and everything works:
You can leave Edge itself in dark mode; it's only that one option that repaints websites. With it off, the sun/moon switch works both ways and dark mode looks the way we designed it.
The same is true of desktop Edge when it's set to darken All websites, and of browser extensions such as Dark Reader. They recolour the finished page, so no website can opt out of them from its side. If you use one, exclude ReShopMe in the extension's settings and use the switch in the top bar instead.
