ReShopMe Limited — Climate Change Position Statement

Version 2.0 · Effective 10 August 2026

The science, and the need for action

ReShopMe recognises that climate change is occurring and is largely caused by human activities. It poses significant risks for, and in many cases is already affecting, a broad range of human and natural systems. Large reductions in global greenhouse-gas emissions are needed to avoid the most severe risks, and some further change is now inevitable, requiring adaptation. We support coordinated global action, and we support well-designed market mechanisms as an efficient way of achieving reductions.

Our role

The clothing industry is a significant source of global emissions, most of it in the manufacture of new garments and the disposal of old ones. ReShopMe's role is direct: every preloved item sold through our marketplace is a purchase that did not require a new garment to be made. Growing the reuse economy — and making it the preferred way to dress — is the largest climate contribution available to us, and it is our core business rather than an offset to it.

Climate change also creates risks for us — to the communities we serve, to the carriers we depend on, and to the stability of the systems our business runs within — and we manage them under our Risk Policy and Standard.

Our actions

We work to reduce the emissions of our own operations — the parcels we ship, and the digital infrastructure we run — by choosing carriers and data-centre providers with credible efficiency and renewable-energy commitments, avoiding wasteful generation in our content tools, and reducing failed-delivery repeat journeys.

We work with others: with carriers on lower-emission delivery, with sellers on reusing packaging, and with our communities on the climate issues that matter to them.

We are honest. We report our sustainable-development performance as part of our broader reporting, we substantiate any environmental claim we make, and we do not greenwash — a reuse marketplace does not need to.

We support sound policy — broadly based, predictable, economically efficient and environmentally effective — and we engage openly and on the record when policy affects our business or our customers.
