ReShopMe Limited — Environment Policy
Version 2.0 · Effective 10 August 2026
Wherever possible we prevent, or otherwise minimise, mitigate and remediate, harmful effects of our operations on the environment.
Excellence in environmental performance is essential to our business success. Compliance with all environmental laws and regulations is the foundation on which we build; where we can reasonably do better than compliance, we do.
Our product is reuse. The clothing industry's largest environmental costs are in making new garments and discarding old ones. ReShopMe's marketplace exists to interrupt both: every preloved item sold is a purchase that required nothing new to be made, and a garment kept out of landfill. Growing that marketplace — and keeping it trustworthy enough that people prefer it — is the largest environmental contribution we can make.
The footprint we do have, we manage:
- Shipping. Parcels are our main physical footprint. We select carriers and routes with efficiency in mind, consolidate where the marketplace allows, and support delivery choices that avoid failed-delivery repeat journeys.
- Packaging. We encourage sellers to reuse packaging and to avoid unnecessary materials — a preloved item does not need pristine wrapping to be well presented.
- Digital operations. Our platform, and the media generation our content tools perform, consume energy in data centres. We choose providers with credible efficiency and renewable-energy commitments, and we do not generate media wastefully.
- Honest claims. We describe environmental benefits only where we can substantiate them. Overstating a green benefit is a Fair Trading Act breach and a betrayal of the customers who chose reuse deliberately — we do neither.
We take a comprehensive view of the life cycle of the goods traded through our marketplace, from listing to delivery to their eventual re-sale — an item bought on ReShopMe can always be sold on ReShopMe again.
We promote active partnerships — with carriers, with communities and with the people who buy and sell here — based on mutual commitment, trust and openness, and we support community-based initiatives that make a difference in a sustainable way without creating dependency.
